Greta Shipping and Hapag-Lloyd Restore India-Gulf Service
Greta Shipping and Hapag-Lloyd have resumed their joint India Gulf (IG1) service, strengthening container shipping connections between western India and the Gulf with an expanded port rotation.
The reinstated service introduces direct calls at Karachi and Sohar, providing additional routing options for cargo moving between India, Pakistan and Gulf markets.
Expanded Port Rotation
According to shipping data, the revised IG1 service will operate on the following rotation:
Kandla – Nhava Sheva – Karachi – Khor Fakkan – Sohar – Kandla
The addition of Karachi and Sohar broadens regional coverage and offers shippers more direct access to key commercial centres across South Asia and the Gulf.
The service will be operated by three vessels, supporting a regular schedule for intra-regional container movements.
More Routing Options for Regional Trade
The restored service provides an additional shipping loop for cargo moving between India and Gulf destinations.
